How Realtors Should Market Themselves

Marketing yourself as a realtor means focusing on one thing above all else, providing a solution to people’s problems. You are not marketing yourself, you are not convincing them that you’re the best and will deliver for them in a fraction of the time everyone else will. Why can’t you market that? Because you cannot back it up and if someone hires you based on those promises, it will not be good if you cannot deliver.

You need to market guidance and information because that’s what people are looking for right now in the real estate game. What are 10 things you should look at in a house before you buy it? That’s more important to someone looking to buy a house than 10 reasons why you’re the right realtor for them.

2 Videos A Week On YouTube

Content is king and in real estate, the most successful content is usually video. People want to look at houses so if you’re able to post a video showing one, it’s going to get views. So, why not double down on that? You know the viewer wants to look at a house or wants to get information about buying or selling a home. That’s your advantage.

Take your next client’s house and shoot two videos there. One video is a walkthrough of the house showing it off and why it is a great option for buyers to look at. Then, shoot another video going over 10 things you should look at when buying a home. Post both those videos to YouTube with the right captions, tags and descriptions and then share them on the web.

Monthly Newsletter

Every month you get emails, some of them you read, most of them you do not. However, of the ones you read, they usually are newsletters or promotions of some kind. While realtors cannot really offer promotions, they can send you reliable information about the local markets. Imagine a monthly email that talks about your experience with certain properties, buyers and sellers right now and so forth?

People would have an interest because even those who are not looking to buy or sell right now want to know what’s going on in local real estate. This is an easy way for you to capture emails or get followers on your social media and when they do need a realtor, the chances are high that you will be the one they call.

Free Consultations

Why are you not offering free consultations? People have questions and yes, they may only have questions and may not be looking to hire anyone right now, but offering an hour each day for people to call or stop by and ask anything they want is a great way to introduce yourself to locals and show them why you are a great option to work with.

Focus On Information, Not Selling Yourself

Want to impress someone? Ask them questions, don’t lecture. Answer their questions, don’t brag about yourself. Focus on giving them the information they want and more because that’s the real test. That person wants to work with a realtor who knows everything about everything and is going to handle the workload for them. You cannot convince someone you are that person if you are talking up yourself.
